We designed this pencil skirt to be a transformer. A horizontal concealed zipper is sewn into the back, at mid-thigh level. When unzipped, it allows the bottom half of the skirt to be draped over the front. This creates an asymmetrical length on each side: maxi in the front and mini in the back. It fastens with a concealed zipper in the center seam, which opens into a deep vent. It has a loop and button to ensure the skirt maintains a straight silhouette in any position.
The skirt is made of a dense twill that has undergone a special pumice treatment. The material undergoes a combination of heat, mechanical, and chemical treatments—it is tumbled in a drum filled with hot water, chemicals, and crushed minerals. This process makes the fabric less stiff and gives it a more matte finish and a sun-bleached look.
